**HYMN #62 (UMH)...................................................... “ALL
CREATURES OF OUR GOD AND KING”
Too often our hearts are cold and without gratitude. Too often our hands are passive and
unwilling to carry out acts of mercy. Too often our lips are pursed tightly, unwilling to speak
words of love. Too often we are indeed separated and alienated from our better self;
separated and alienated from God. Let us confess our separation and alienation. Let us join
together
in the prayer of confession…
Merciful God, many of us read the words from Your Holy Word and are inspired,
encouraged, and grateful. But some of us are tempted to doubt that your grace could
ever produce virtues in our lives. Some of us are tempted by resentment and
unforgiveness because of those who have let us down. Some of us are tempted to
condemn ourselves for past failings, and all of us remember times when we have fallen
short. Forgive us for doubt, resentment, unforgiving hearts, and self-condemning
attitudes. Remind us of your forgiveness, always available in Jesus Christ. In Spite of
our failures and sin, we trust in Your power to transform our lives. Fill us with Your
Holy Spirit, Lord Jesus, so that our lives may bring joy to Your world and Praise to
Your name. AMEN.
SILENT PRAYERS OF CONFESSION
Leader: God says to us: “You are my chosen ones. I love you. I am proud of you.
Stand firm in your renewed
commitment. Know that I have forgiven
you; I
call you by name; you are
mine. I have entered into covenant with
you and
will stand by you in all times
and all places. Dare to live fully the
life to
which I have called you.”
All: Because of God’s grace we dwell
secure in the Lord! We are forgiven!
AMEN.

**RESPONSE #2050 (TFWS).......................................... “MOTHERING
GOD, YOU GAVE ME BIRTH”
SERMON............................... “NOT MEANT FOR THIS WORLD” ................... REV. ERIC WARNER
Up from the grave he
arose, with a mighty triumph o’er his foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain, and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose!
He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!
PRAYER CONCERNS/PASTORAL PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
AMEN.
I cast all my cares upon you, I lay all of my burdens down at your feet, and anytime that
I don't know what to do, I will cast all my cares upon you.
May the Lord who brought us to birth by his Spirit, strengthen us for the Christian life. May
the Lord who provides for all our needs sustain us day by day. May the Lord whose steadfast
love is constant as a mother's care, send us out to live and work for others. And the blessing
of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be with you and remain with you
always. AMEN!
Bind us together, Lord, bind us together with cords
that cannot be broken.
Bind us together, Lord, bind us together, bind us
together in love.
