PRELUDE......................................... “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY”1............ ARR. BY ANNA LAURA PAGE
INTROIT....................................... “FATHER, I ADORE YOU”1............................... CHANCEL CHOIR
OPENING
TIME OF CENTERING PRAYER
Leader: God, sometimes we show up to worship ready
to encounter your presence.
People: We know you are always with us.
Leader: Sometimes
we catch glimpses of you at home, work, or school—in a smile,
in
a gentle breeze, in the joy of being together.
People: We know you are always with
us.
Leader: But God, we hesitate to encounter you in
all your glory, afraid of judgment
for our sin.
People: And yet, we know you are always with us in
the fullness of your love
and grace, abundant in mercy
and forgiveness.
Leader: Ready our hearts today to encounter more
of your love, holiness, and glory
that is always present with
us.
All: We come today to enter the dance of
the all-consuming presence of the
Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. AMEN.
Called to be God's people, we know how often we act as spoiled and petulant children. Yet,
like a loving parent, God looks past our mistakes to see our hearts. God lifts us to our feet to
put us back on the path to life. Let us bring our prayers to the One who listens, and then
forgives us with unceasing grace. Let us confess our sins to our gracious God, as we pray the
prayer of confession…
God of all creation, you shaped beauty and goodness, yet we damage it by our selfishness
and anger. In the mystery of life, you became one of us, yet all too often we turn our back
on you. In the mystery of peace, you would gentle our natures, yet we cling tenaciously to
our bitterness and hurt. In the mystery of grace, you forgive us our sins, that we might
embrace others. In the mystery of mercy, you touch our lips, that we might speak gently
to others. In the mystery of hope, you claim us as family, siblings of the One who brought
new life for all, Jesus Christ, our
Lord and Savior. AMEN.
SILENT PRAYERS OF CONFESSION
Leader: Here, in this moment and in this place,
the Spirit of gentleness moves in our
midst. Mercy, hope and joy are the gifts of God to
each and every one of
us.
People: No longer lost, we have found our way home,
surrounded by God's
peace, by God's grace, by
God's love. Thanks be to God, we are
forgiven!

SERMON..................................... “TO SAVE THE WORLD” .............................. REV. ERIC WARNER
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is peace; where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is
love. There is comfort in life’s darkest hour; there is light and life, there is help and power
in the Spirit, in the Spirit of the
Lord.
PRAYER CONCERNS/PASTORAL PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
AMEN.
I cast all my cares upon you, I lay all of my burdens down at your feet, and anytime that
I don't know what to do, I will cast all my cares upon you.
**HYMN #545 (UMH)................................................................ “THE
CHURCH’S ONE FOUNDATION”
Go now in the blessed presence of the Triune God who cleanses you, calls you, and empowers
you to be messengers of God’s love in this world even as you are surrounded by God’s all-
consuming presence wherever you go. AMEN!
Bind us together, Lord, bind us together with cords
that cannot be broken.
Bind us together, Lord, bind us together, bind us
together in love.
