Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true.  With thanksgiving,
I’ll be a living sanctuary for you.

**CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:      Some of us come today with hearts weighed down with anxiety, fear,

despair, and hurt.  Together we cling to this truth:

People:     God’s steadfast love endures forever.

Leader:      Some of us come today with hearts that feel light with relief, joy, comfort,

and gratitude.  Together we cling to this truth:
People:     God’s steadfast love endures forever.

Leader:      Some of us come today not knowing what we think about God, confused

and disappointed that the world God made is so full of evils of every kind.

Together we cling to this truth:

People:     God’s steadfast love endures forever.

Leader:      Be with us, God, in all that we bring with us, as we gather to encounter your

                  unchanging love.

All:            We come today to enter the dance of the Trinity who is immutable in love.

                   AMEN.

**HYMN #140 (UMH)......................................................................... “GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS”

CALL TO CONFESSION

We know what it is like to be rejected, but we also remember turning our backs on others.

We have experienced conflict, as well as caused pain to others.  Let us confess our sins to the

One who seeks to forgive us on this day, and every day.…

PRAYER OF CONFESSION (IN UNISON)

Holy and uncontainable God,

For trying to contain you, forgive us.

For trying to limit you, forgive us.

For trying to bind you, forgive us.

Sometimes we are foolish enough to believe

that it is to our advantage to reduce you to something we can comprehend.

Forgive us, Almighty God.  AMEN.

SILENT PRAYERS OF CONFESSION

WORDS OF PARDON AND ASSURANCE

Leader:      Do not lose heart!  God seeks to fill us with forgiveness, wonder, and joy!

People:     Glory to you, God of mercy and grace.  You want only the best for us,

and so we give our praises to you.  Thanks be to God, we are forgiven!

                  AMEN.

RESPONSE #2119 (TFWS).................................................. “WHERE THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS”

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is peace; where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is

love.  There is comfort in life’s darkest hour; there is light and life, there is help and

power in the Spirit, in the Spirit of the Lord.

PRAYER CONCERNS/PASTORAL PRAYER

THE LORD'S PRAYER (IN UNISON)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be

done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our

trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

 AMEN.

RESPONSE #2215 (TFWS)....................................................................................... “CARES CHORUS”

I cast all my cares upon you, I lay all of my burdens down at your feet, and anytime that

I don't know what to do, I will cast all my cares upon you.

GRADUATE PRESENTATION

**HYMN #2243 (TFWS)...................................................................... “WE ALL ARE ONE IN MISSION”

**BENEDICTION

This is the faith that Christians proclaim:

The power of God that created the world is the power of love.

The power in Jesus that rescues the world is the power of love.

The power in us that changes the world is the power of love.

Therefore, I bid you go in the name of love.  AMEN!

**CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE
