OPENING
TIME OF CENTERING PRAYER
Leader: Family of God, what is our story?
People: Though created by our loving God, we have
sinned and harmed
ourselves, one another, and
creation.
Leader: Family of God, what is our story?
People: While we were yet sinners, God sent Jesus
to show us how to turn
away from sin and toward the
love of God.
Leader: Family of God, what is our story?
People: We carry the weight of
the Word in our hearts, our hands, and our
voices, proclaiming with our
lives the good news of God’s love and
the mercy of God’s grace.
Leader: Family of God, this is our story!
All: Thanks be to God! Amen.
**HYMN #555 (UMH)............................................................................... “FORWARD
THROUGH THE AGES”
One body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father
of all, who is above all and through all and in all, take this patchwork collection of persons
and quilt together your church. Like old pieces of cloth, take these words and songs and
prayers, take our thoughts and inner hungers, and join them all together into a new and
living fabric—the purpose of which is to cover and color your world with grace and love.
In Christ. AMEN.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is peace; where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
is love. There is comfort in life’s darkest hour; there is light and life, there is help and
power in the Spirit, in the
Spirit of the Lord.

GREAT
THANKSGIVING (UMH PAGE 15)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will
be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us
our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and
the glory, forever. AMEN.
Holy Communion will be served at the chancel rail this morning. At the direction of the
ushers, you will be invited forward. You may kneel or stand at the kneelers. You will then
receive a piece of bread from a communion server. After eating the bread, you will receive
the juice and after drinking the juice, you will be dismissed by the pastor to return to your
seat. If you are unable to come forward for Holy Communion servers will serve you in
your seat.

**HYMN #2175 (TFWS).............................................................................................. “TOGETHER
WE SERVE”
Beloved, may God bless you as you go from this place carrying the Word in your hearts,
living the story we share with the saints of old and the saints of now as we break down
barriers to community and build up the kingdom of God on earth as it is in
heaven. AMEN.
Bind us together, Lord, bind us together with cords
that cannot be broken.
Bind us together, Lord, bind us together, bind us
together in love.
