PRAYER (IN UNISON)

Almighty God, ruler of all the nations, we pray for our nation, its people, and our

leaders.  May we be mindful of your favor and obedient to your will.  Forgive our

shortcomings as a nation and purify our hearts to know the truth that alone can

make us free.  Save us from injustice and oppression, from pride and arrogance,

and from greed and self-centeredness.  Increase our concern for people beyond

our own boundaries and for the poor and afflicted in our land.  Help us to be a

blessing and example to all nations.  Bring us at last to that day when the whole

world will know peace and blessedness, through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose

name we pray.  AMEN.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be

AMEN.
