**HYMN #369 (UMH)....................................................................................... “BLESSED
ASSURANCE”
We toss and turn at night, unable to sleep because of all that is running through our heads. But,
if we listen carefully, we will discover that God is speaking to us of hope, joy, and forgiveness
offered to us, if we will but open our lives to Christ. Let us confess our sins, as we pray together,
saying…
O God who has adopted us, our hearts are hard so soften them with your love. Our hands
are clenched so open them with your grace. Our feet are planted too firmly so invite us to
move freely with you. Our lives are not our own so enable us to live and move and have our
being in you. AMEN.
SILENT PRAYERS OF CONFESSION
Leader: Before the earth was shaped, God chose us
and this sets our hearts, our
souls, and our feet free with
joy so we can move with Jesus.
People: It is God who has created us, it is God who
has redeemed us, and it is
God who sends us forth to live
as brothers and sisters of Christ.
Thanks be to God, we are
forgiven. AMEN.

THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS”
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is peace; where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is love.
There is comfort in life’s darkest hour; there is light and life, there is help and power in the
Spirit, in the Spirit of the
Lord.

PRAYER CONCERNS/PASTORAL PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us
from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. AMEN.
I cast all my cares upon you, I lay all of my burdens down at your feet, and anytime that I
don't
know what to do, I will cast all my cares upon you.
