**CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:       On this day, we are not a single congregation,

People:       but are the Church made up of all Christians everywhere.
Leader:       On this day, we share not just a sacrament,
People:       but a feast from every place of faith.

Leader:       In a world that pulls us this way and that, God’s love is our True

North, guiding us with wisdom through all that life brings us.

People:       Come, let us worship God who loves us and guides us!

Leader:       On this day, God’s people gather in storefront churches and

cathedrals, historic buildings, and modern structures.

All:             And we do so for one united purpose – to give all glory to our

                   Lord Jesus Christ.  AMEN!

**HYMN #525 (UMH)........................................................ “WE’LL UNDERSTAND IT BETTER BY AND BY”

OPENING PRAYER (IN UNISON)

Today, God, we confess fumblings and failures in accomplishing unity, as we set

aside yet another day to remind ourselves of the difficult task to which we have

been called.  On this World Communion Sunday, give us eyes to recognize your

reflection in the eyes of all Christians and even all people everywhere.  Give us

a mind to accept and celebrate our differences.  Give us a heart big enough to

love those who may believe differently than ourselves.  We thank you for setting

a table with space enough for all your beloved children!  In Jesus’ mighty name

we pray.  AMEN.

GREAT THANKSGIVING

THE LORD'S PRAYER (IN UNISON)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the

kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  AMEN.

Holy Communion will be served at the end of each main aisle.  You may come

forward as you feel led and servers will give you a piece of bread and then a cup

of grape juice.  You may consume the elements immediately upon receiving them

or go to the chancel railing to partake.  The chancel rail is also open to all who

would like to pray. You may then return to your seat.
